Slum Doonk Leeds

Got into leeds about 1 pm yesterday and from what I could tell it was a pretty cool little city and now I’m wishing I gave myself a bit more time to check it out. Today is the Bank Holiday though, so everything’s closed anyway… maybe not so much fun on a public holiday with everything closed, but I think I might have to come back sometime.

Slam Dunk North (Leeds) – wayyyyyyy better than South (London). Aside from the hour+ lineup just to get into the festival, once I was in it was all pretty good. All stages were indoors and for the most part it was pretty easy to get into every room… though I missed Moneen again thanks to that line outside.

And lastly a photo of the view out of our hotel room in Leeds… Looks like a pretty grey and dull place (mostly thanks to the dodgy weather), but I really liked it here.

Ok so I’m in much better spirits than yesterday.

The day yesterday didn’t quite go as planned, missed a bunch of bands, added to the fact it was cold and grey…
Blackhole were pretty good, looking forward to seeing them again today, Set Your Goals sounded HUGE even though I did only see 2 songs, and I managed to catch a bit of NFG, Devil Sold His Soul, Four Year Strong, Against Me! and Alkaline Trio.

This morning I went for a bit of a walk down to London Bridge… I seem to remember an old nursery rhyme about it, but I was pretty disappointed when it was neither a pile of rubble, nor falling down. And there was no fair lady either. Come to think of it, it looked structurally sound last time I was in London too. Jipped!

At the moment I’m on the train up to Leeds for the same festival with Tim. Comfy train, free internets and drinking beers. Pretty rad times:

Tim’s been killing himself laughing at Rodney Rude on his ipod. It’s fair quiet in here, then he will burst out laughing… he has me crying with laughter at him.

And also taking advantage of easy-to-find Dr Pepper. Drew, jealous?

Will probably update this tomorrow on the train back to London… Might film some bands or something. Might not either. This is my blog, I will do whatever the hell I want.

I really can’t be bothered typing everything out hey. So summary:

-work all day Friday
-go to airport. Flight leaves without hitch
-get to Dubai. Airport is nothing out of the ordinary.
-plane leaves gate on time… only to turn back to the gate with some problem. Sit in the plane for 2 hours waiting for it to be fixed. Plane is airworthy, so we fly on to London YAYYYY
-slight runny nose turns into a non-stop leak. 7 hours of this, awesome fun!
-get to London, make way to hostel as fast as possible (the exxy London Heathrow Express train) only to find they can’t check me in just yet because they’re changing over shifts…
-currently waiting to check in so I can get changed and head to the festival… already missed one band I want to see. At least there’s tomorrow.

Seeing ol’ mate Tim and maybe Linda tonight. SWEEEEEET
